best trick to a clean car

wash often... don't overwax.. cleaning the interior is just as important as keeping the outside clean.... clean under engine bay... no eating in car

Any good tips on what kind of wax to use. I just bought a 03 Camry white a month ago I love it. It has the 4cyl vvt-i engine which i think gives it alot of pick up for a 4cyl

General paint condition is a major consideration...

When in doubt, get something like a Mothers Clay Bar kit, clay it, and use the Carnauba Cleaner Wax included... it does a nice job of removing light oxidation and scratches.

I like to use a protectant on the trim first to avoid messy cleanup later.

Use a spray wax every other time you wash and it'll help extend the time you need to use a traditional wax.

If you like the cleaner wax, keep using that, or try some of the synthetics like FX SynWax which is even easier to use and has good durability... though it's a little pricier.

If you feel you need more cleaning power than the cleaner wax, let us know.

also try to park indoors when possible,as outdoors can also wear out your cars shine. no direct sunlight parking if ness. and get yourself an ipod integration kit from dice electronics. they also have new HD radio recievers for '98-'07 models too. check it out.

Removeeasy access parts like the air intake, things like that. Wipe them down separately, its prolly a good idea to replace anything that needs replacing at that point, like filters. When everything easy is out, wipe what can be with a damp cloth, anything else with a dry cloth. Remember: 1)Disassemble 2)Clean and detail 3)Reassemble. Thats what I do. and it comes out fine.

What makes things worse is eating food that can produce a heavy stain against linen seats. That makes me...you know!!! [:@]

Don't park under trees, garage or covered parking whenever possible, don't park next to sprinklers, try not to draft behind cars/semi-'s when it's raining.

allcam 09-12-2012 12:50 PM

Avoid drive through washes and resort to self washes (not using their brushes). Just use their touchless high pressure soap spray and spotless rinse.

Blake099 12-26-2012 12:34 PM

Well I don't think to wash the car weekly because it can effect the paint of the car. I think wash a car twice in a month is enough. Try to steam cleaning I use it and its good and easy to detail the car with a steam cleaner you can also use it on interior of car.

briando 03-24-2013 08:19 AM

so what is your opinion on pressure washing? is that a good idea for the engine bay or am i likely to blow my camry guts apart?

full house 05-23-2013 01:49 AM

is it safe to clean the car while raining? I find easy but not sure if it clean the car very well. anyone have tried it?

briando 05-27-2013 12:11 PM

my favorite trick is to find a ziebart. they've gotten my camry extremely clean before, but i always manage to dirty it up again. such is life

1st post, guys, howdy.

Good old Pledge is a old trick of car show exhibitors. Inside, outside, engine compartment. Cheap, available, and leaves things lemon-fresh, too.

Speaking of engine compartment, I tried the normal de-grease of my newly acquired '88 Camry yesterday, and alas, I have a no-start situation. For 2 days now.

Have always sprayed the living you-know-who out of my 3 Maximas and other, too, but have not encountered this issue. I guess it's time to do some searching.

I hope my honeymoon isn't over too quickly as I just picked this little gem up from the original owner ... a sweet barn find, indeed.

Ok, cheers to you all, and I'll be looking forward to experiencing the Toyota feeling. As soon as I can get it running, that is.

Gary
