Seat Cover questions.
Hi,
The seats in the 84 Camry are generally in very good condition, with the exception of where the sun came through the back window and deteriorated the top of the back seat. Seats are a tan, soft fabric material. I thought about using an iron-on material to repair the damaged material on the top of the back seat. Seats do need cleaning but should clean up nicely, just need to get out a couple of mild grease smudges (yes, from me). I plan on using an upholstery cleaner for the smudges then the handheld attachment on our carpet shampoo/ steam cleaner throughout then using Scotchguard to protect them. We could just go with that and just clean them periodically but I'm also considering getting some seat covers if not too expensive. If we go with seat covers it would be nice to have them fairly comfortable and not bunch up or slide around. Any suggestions? |

Thanks! |
Have you considered having them recovered? My '94 Camry has leather. The seat portion of one bucket seat has a big rip. Only $200 to reupholster it. Cloth would be far less.

I would love to get that recover... but that would cost a lot.

I have to agree with sheep skin. Sometimes these things can be a real labor-intensive ordeal. Not only are we dealing with the repair aspect, but also the aspect of cleaning a seat fabric that has years of dirt embedded in its surface. I give it a go :)

The deck comes out. If your going to recover it take it out first.
