touch up chips

started touching up my new 2012 white camry, has 2 chips I'm addressing & they are blackish looking. Is this beneath the primer? Manuel says may need to prime. Wondering what color is the primer? COULD this black be rust proofing?

Where are these chips located? Is it on plastic or metal pieces?

they are on metal, the plastic back bumper also has black cuts from backing into stuff.

If you are not seeing metal then you can just use touch up paint. I suggest going to your local Toyota dealer for the touch up paint so it is factory match. Just know that you will notice the touch up in the finish because it will be hard to get the surfaces to match up again. A body shop would sand down the area, prime, sand, spray, then clear coat, and buff to smooth/blend it all out.
Either way, put some paint on those chips on the metal parts. Paint primer is porous so it is susceptible to water getting though and hence, rust.

I would just use a lanka touch up paint system which can be bought from autogeek. It was easier to apply compared with traditional mixing and applying no need for re priming.

FYI, dealer said the primer is gray. Bought touch up paint from dealer, only prob. is that it doesn't bond well. Comes off it u rub on it, it's ok if u dont. Will ck again after it's been on for a while.

Get some liquid (not spray, or spray in a lid) adhesion promoter. Use a THIN needle and put just a touch in the bottom of the hole. Wait 5 minutes and go.
Beading needles can be found at hobby store or Joann's.

Hmm may be the dealer could sell you a touch up paint originally for your car. These may be available in liquid or spray form.
