1991 Camry 2.0l needs front struts.
I'm going to be replacing the struts and don't know if they are rebuild-able. I went to the Autozone website and found that there are two types listed. Complete strut assembly and the cartridge. Can I just replace the assembly instead or if the car has rebuild-able struts then will I have to stick with that? Also they say I will need a special tool to remove the cartridge from the strut.
Thanks, Matt |
Most people replace the strut assy rather the cartridge as much easier, suggest you also do this.
You don't need a special tool but a large wrench that can fit the large nut holding the cartridge into to the strut body. View the last minute of the link below showing removal of the nut. How to Disasemble a Strut & Remove Cartridge - YouTube |
Thanks for the info. I found that the struts are indeed one piece units. So I won't have to bother with changing the cartridges.
Thanks again, Matt |
