1995 Camry V6 1MZE - What coolant type to use.

I am doing a timing belt, water pump and a couple other things. What type of coolant is the right type? So much confusion.

I see red/pink , red, pink. Can't remember what I used last.

Thank You.

Confused, welcome to the club!

The color between brands can mean nothing in common between brands as its just a dye color the maker choose for their product.

Toyota offers both long life and super long life coolants. The long life appears to be red and the super life pink.

The long life coolant was used in older Camry such as yours as it was designed o protect the mix of iron, steel, aluminum, brass, etc. materials in the engine, radiator, heater core, etc.. The super long life coolant was designed for cars having mostly aluminum materials and of course to have a longer life.

If using Toyota brand use the long life branded coolant which thought was red.

There are aftermarket coolants that will work fine but their listings as to what they are (chemical composition) is confusing and appear inconstant. If you stick with Toyota brand coolant you know what you have..
