2001 Camry dome light
 

2001 Camry dome light does not come on. Fuse is good. Test light shows power to the leads where the bulb goes. Bulbs brand-new but not coming on. New bulbs cross-checked by parts store for 2001 Camry as 12v10w. What could be the problem?

As I understand the wiring there is always power to the dome light.

The manual dome light switch on the light fixture itself grounds one side of the bulb to complete the connection.

The door switches are connected to the integration relay that in turn if a door is opened would ground the other side of the bulb as would the dome light switch. In this case a ground wire from the dome light would run to this relay first.

If the cars dome light has some kind of dome light "fade out" system, this ground wire would also run to the relay but would be a little different in design.
