Default 2010 XLE 4 Cyl 0W-20 OIL???

What the heck is up with this 0W-20 oil??? Why can't I just stick with 5W-20---I know this is a hot button topic, but I just need reassurance from some folks that if I use 5W-20 my warranty will remain in effect (I purchased an extended 8 yr-75,000 Toyota warranty when I purchased the car). I am sure I could track down 0W-20 but I am basically too cheap to use it!!!

thanks for your comments---

5-20 is fine,
where do you live?
if it is really cold, you may need 0-20, but for most warmer climates 5-20 is more than enough.

Both 0W-20 and 5W-20 are just fine to use in your car. If you follow oil change guidelines per your owners' manual, that will afford you the reassurance you are looking for.

That's right - the lighter weight of the 0W-20 motor oil allows for better gas mileage in a wide variety of motors. 0W-20 is run in some trucks as well as some cars. 0W-20 provides excellent protection just like 5W-20 and 5W-30 weight oils do.

08LTZ - Thanks for the info great to know about having to move the intake tube, and its always nice when you can "pre-oil" the filter.
