2012 Camry SE Oil Change
 

Hi All,
I'm new to this forum. I have a new 2012 SE 4cyl. I plan to change my oil before the 10K free service. I haven't been under the car yet but it seems pretty straight forward. Is the oil filter the same one as on the 2011 4 cyl?
I have a variety of cap wrenches. Is a cap wrench OK to use to remove the filter housing or do I need to use the part specific to this housing? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, its the same as the 2011, the filter wrench can be purchase in any parts store, when you purchase the filter, it comes with the drain tube to drain the oil out of the filter housing first,before it make a mess then the rest is just removing the filter, replace the oo-rings using the supplied ones that came with the new flter, I bought my filter from the dealer, its just a better quality, thicker, just remember to used synthetic oil and save your receipts in order to proof you maintained service on you engine
