2016 4 Cyl, 4door, Camry LE parts rip-off?
I took in my 2016 Camry 4-cyl., 4dr., LE for a 10K service check and the service writer informs me that I need an A.C Cabin Filter, Front, r&r 15/16 standard and it will cost me $60 and then a A/C SYS CLNR LINEN, which will cost me $70 bucks. Anybody familiar with these parts? It don't sound right to me?

Look for aftermarket parts on Amazon and third party vendors like Rockauto and PartsGeek.
Unless driving in grossly dirty air, its too early to replace the filters. |
I have to jump in on this one. I have a RAV4 2016 and went in for my 10,000 mile check. After waiting for a while a technician comes out and shows me my cabin filter which to me should not be part of the car is dirty. I asked how much parts, labor. He said $60.00. I said please put it back I will change it.
I went online to an actual dealer and bought for $15.00. Looked on you tube on how to do it. Took me a total of 5 min. R@R. One more I had to change my plugs on my Toyota Avalon. Did it myself $60 but dealer was $400-$600. The back three are hard and took me a few evenings. Most people don't even know how easy it is to replace a cabin filter. |
