3.0 swap into a 2.2 camy

Can a 3.0 be swapped into my 1993 2.2 Camry 5 speed M/T? If so what would i need?

What year of 3.0L? Are you wanting to use the 5-sp trans?

whichever year would work. And yes reuse trans.

This could get complicated very fast!

This year car had two V-6 engine model options. Either one will require the appropriate engine computer for that model. This for year, trans as in stick, emissions standards built to, etc.

The most common V-6 was a 1MZ-FE. However Toyota made changes to the engine as time passed. A later model engine had a later model computer to accommodate these changes.

You will need the proper engine model wiring harness to fit up to computer plus whatever options your car has.

The V-6 uses a different model stick trans. The old should bolt up but not sure of the axle fit when bolted to a V-6 engine. The L4 and V-6 axles are different.

The V-6 had stronger front suspension springs.

Individuals have swapped L4 for 6 cyl. They typically had access to a complete donor car of the same year to swap parts and do it cheaply.

v6 5speed

I swapped my 99 Camry 4 cylinder 5 speed to 1mz and kept the same trans. I beat on it as hard as I can every day and it never fails!
