92 camry cigarette lighter problems

My cigarette lighter worked fine all the time until the other day when I was using an air compressor to fill my tires up. When I got to the last wheel it just shut off while I was in the middle of filling it up.

When I tried to plug in my sat radio power supply back in, which is always in there, it didn't work. I checked all the fuses in the car and under the hood, even ones that were not marked as being related to the lighter, and nothing was blown.

Any ideas how/what I can test to see where the problem is? Nothing else is wrong with the car the radio and all the lights still work so does the horn.

Depending on the year of car, the lighter is powered by the Cig or Cig/Radio fuse.

Later model cars have the cig/radio fuse behind the drivers side lower dash ash tray.

Previous model cars has a cig fuse behind the drivers side kick panel.

If all fuses are good suggest checking the lighter holder. Make sure power is getting to the holder.

Yeah in my original post I put that I checked all the fuses already. I'm looking for something else that might be the cause of the problem because it's not a fuse.

Installing other types of plugs in the holder can damage the cig socket front connections.

Remove the socket to access the rear. Check for power. Check ground wire for continuity with chassis. If OK, check connections with the socket.
