92 Camry HeadLights stay on with door open

Headlights used to go out when key was turned off and door opened. Now they stay on unless you manually turn the lightswitch off. Any idea where the problem is at? Thanks.

Does the door light switch work, same switch that turns on/off the courtesy light.

Yes it does

Does the car have daytime running lights and or is a Canada car?

Does the auto off feature still turn off the tail lights, or has this too been affected?

I think its off, if should work properly if on whether Canada car or not...

It's a Canada car I think because the lights don't come on automatically during the day and I will have to check and see if the tail lights go out.

None of the lights go off until I turn the switch off.

The integration relay controls the auto off function. When the lights are on and the ign switch off, an electronic relay in the integration relay responds to the drivers door being opened and shuts off the relays for the tail and headlights.

Check the Dome and Gauge fuses as these supply power to the relay.

Dome fuse is fine and the dome light works fine. I didn't see a gauge fuse but the gauges all work fine. Could it be a bad integration relay? How do I identify the relay and can it be visually checked for failure like a fuse? Since it is like a switch can it be disassembled and cleaned lubed etc?

Location depends on the year of the car. Might be behind the drivers side kick panel or under the dash near the fuse box on the drivers side.

The issue is this relay also controls other functions. Perhaps if you can find a cheap use one. This is the reason for checking everything that interacts with it first.

The relay is a semiconductor logic circuit not mechanical.
