96 camry transmission issue.
I have a 96 camry XLE V6 with an A541E Transmission, I took apart the valve body, when i did this there were 2 ball bears and some metal hook type thingy that fell out, I am in desperate need for anyone who knows where they go. I have googled and searched everywhere for this and nothing has given me an answer and I am at a loss. I am really not feeling the whole lets pay for a new valve body when they are 500 bucks. Anyone that has a clue please help!!

Valve Body Check Balls
Going through the same mess now on my A245E.
How did this turn out for you? JC |
I eventually had a buddy who is a Toyota tech, coke
To my rescue. He told me to just sit there and look very close to see if there are marks, to see where the ball bearings made a mark And I was able to after I would say about 45 Minutes of searching and a schematic able to put everything back. I just deleted all the pics off my phone or I would upload them and just show you. If google I forget exactly what a Toyota schematic will give you a general area in which the ball bearings go and if I remember correctly the hook thingy too. Well that's about as much as I can remember sorry not to much info, but it's the best I got . I wish you the best on this. |
Any photos.
Can only guess. Check area inside of the trans where the gear shift shaft enters trans. The shaft has a metal cam and detente system that keeps the shaft from rotating once a gear has been selected. The retainer system is sheet metal which has been known to break. |
