97 Camry- Master Control Switch
Ok CF, my driver's door power window has started becoming randomly non-responsive to its respective switch. I know before deciding whether or not to replace the window motor that I need to test the switch first to make sure its not the problem using a test light or a multimeter. If I were to go the test light route is it as simple as sticking the test light into the back of the switch and seeing if any power is coming from it or do I need to be putting the test light in the back of the window motor?

The motor has two power wires running to it. The direction of motor rotation depends on the +/- polarity of the two wires.
You need a multimeter to check polarity of power coming from the switch.
You can connect 12V DC +/- to the motor and check operation one direction. Then reverse the wires and check operation the other direction.
