AC Info for 2001 Camry

I have a 2001 Camry LE 4 cylinder that ran into the back of someone. It has been sitting for about 6 months, and I've started working on it. I just replaced the condenser, and I need to know some specifics on recharging the system. I have a pump and gauge set. My questions are, what else should I replace besides the dryer? Also, how do I know how much oil to put in? Should I remove the compressor and empty out all the oil and then refill it to the specified 8 ounces of PAG 46?

Thanks.

Was the system working OK prior to the accident?

What happened to the old A/C compressor?

Is this 8 oz total for the complete system? The compressor may be something like 4.7 oz. Are you sure the new compressor contains no oil?

Put 1.4-1.7 oz in the new condenser. For drier 0.71 oz

Yes, the A/C was working fine. It did not damage the compressor or anything else, just the condenser, dryer and lines up front. Not sure how to tell how much oil, if any, is in the compressor. According to Toyota, the system should hold 8 ounces of PAG 46 oil and 30 ounces of R134a freon.

Thanks for your help!

Just add the proper amount of oil to condenser and drier before installing them. No need to add oil to the compressor.

Install the new dryer last to avoid exposing the desiccant to open air as much as possible.

The 8 oz of oil is total as spread out over the system.

Once the unit is back together, pull a vacuum.

The 30 oz is by weight. The can should state weight.
