Antenna problem replacing 2009 stock radio

I am replacing the stock radio in the 2009 Camry LE (Not JBL) with an aftermarket Kenwood. The Kenwood has the standard size antenna input, but the factory radio seems to have two attenna cables. One is the standard size cable and there is another smaller style blue connector.

My problem is using the standard size one gives me absolutely no reception on the new radio. If I take the smaller blue connector cable and hold it in the radio connector I get clear reception on the radio.

What gives? Is there some sort of mixup on the wiring of the connectors? Why two cables to begin with and is there some sort of adapter so I can connect the smaller blue one to the standard input for an after market radio?

www.installdr.com may have some info.

Might ask at Toyotanation in the sites stereo section.

I only have the 2007 wiring info. Blue wire goes to dash console, the antenna input to radio appears to be connected to a antenna amp (orange wire).
