Battery Replacement

I want to DIY replace my battery. I can easily do it, but I need to know if I have to use a Memory Saver to put electricity into the system while the battery is disconnected. Years ago (with another make of car) I just replaced the battery without knowing that I had to keep the system "alive", and the car went b@ll**** for a while-the idle speed was wrong. Do I need to keep electricity in the system with my Camry? BTW, I went to O'Reilly's and they didn't know what I was talking about. I went to Advance, and they didn't know either, although they install batteries! Thank you.

Disconnecting the battery will cause the radio to lose its station settings AND the computer will need to relearn the idle setting. The engine has an electric throttle.

If you want a smooth transition use a memory saver.

Thanks! Any recommendation as to make & model for that tool?

Schumacher makes decent products.
