Brake help, pad fell out while driving
89 Camry 4 cyl auto, 180000.
Drivers side was fine, even wear, 1/4 in pad left, caliper good conditioon. Passenger side was where the pad fell out. piston on caliper was damaged, would not compress. Replaced caliper. When bleeding the passenger side the piston will not expand. No fluid coming throug brake line, but seems like there is a little air. Any ideas? |
Station wagon?
ABS brakes? Did the fluid level in the master cylinder ever run dry? |

correction, 98 not 89.
Cannot get steady flow of fluid to passenger side. Removed rubber hose and tried bleeding straight from steel line. Can feel and hear air moving through but only sputtering fluid. Driver side bleeds fine... |
yes abs. I dont believe mc went dry.

If the master cylinder went dry, air gets into the system then the cylinder would require bleeding.
Are you using a check valve or something to keep the air that is coming out from going back in when you release the pedal? |
