Cam gear Timing Mark
 
Am putting the timing belt after doing the headgasket I can't find the timing mark on the cam gear...it seems that there were two mark...which one is the TDC mark....the 11'o clock or the 12'o clock

Year and type of engine, inline 4 or V6?

If a 5SFE model use the procedure below.

Rotate the crank until the TDC pulley mark lines up with the 0 degree mark on the timing cover and the No 1 piston is at TDC on the compression stoke. If the engine has a distributor remove the cap and look at the rotor. When in the correct position the rotor metal probe should very close (10 degrees) to the No 1 spark plug wire electrode position if the cap were installed.

Look at the face of the cam pulley. There is a hole in one of the spokes. When looking at the front face center the hole on a mark (notch) on top of the front upper cam bearing mount. This is the final setting method.

The rotor should still be within 10 degrees of the No 1 electrode.

Rotate the crank 2 complete rotations CW and recheck the hole/notch alignment.
