Camry 2004 Driver Dome Light ...
 

Help please!

Just yesterday I got a dome light (driver/front) from a 2004 Camry (from a junk yard) that has the HomeLink module integrated in the dome light assembly. I'm planning on using this in my 2000 Camry. I have already taken out the storage receptacle in my 2000 Camry and have enlarged the cutout so that the dome from the 2004 Camry will fit perfectly. I have even fished wires to power this unit. Now after going this far I'm stuck because I don't know which pins on the dome unit (integrated with the HomeLink) I have to connect to. I have spent close to twelve hours scouring the internet but to no use. I finally decided to try my luck here at the Camry Forums for answers. If anyone on this forum has or knows the pin details please share it here so I can complete my project.

The HomeLink is also sold by the manufacturer Homelink.com. Have you searched the web for Homelink wiring diagrams as they are out there.

Does the unit have 3 buttons?

Does this unit have a plug, if so are there 2 or 4 connection wires what colors.

Thanks for the quick reply. I meant to update the post last night but got too lazy after all that searching and tracing. I was finally able to trace the routes to the map reading lamps. To do this I took out the bulb and traced the circuit (through the switches) to find the connections I need to use on the connector. It is a five pin connector, and here is what I found out (by trial and error), pin #1 is positive (+) and pin #5 is negative/ground (-). I connected the plug and the lamp worked like a champ. I was a bit nervous about the Home Link, but even that worked like a champ. It is now programmed and I can put my old clunky remote that was hanging on my visor away.
