I had an experience with my wifes camry yesterday I thought Id share to help eliminate some trouble if your having the same problem.

Wife called me yesterday saying her 99 camry 2.2 auto wouldn't start. Would crank but wouldn't fire. Which I found strange because camrys just don't do that haha. When I get home I try to fire it and it acts like its either loaded up or running off the gas its siphoning from the fuel pump. Either way I could get it to fire but die right away. All fuses were good and I had strong spark. Which leads me to a fueling problem, which I figured it would be. Without a pressure test port, I was pretty much shooting blind, so I popped the plastic cover off the fuel pressure regulator and the set screw fell out with it. So I jimmied the screw back into place in the end of the regulator and tightened it back down and cranked it wide open. It eventually fired and took a few seconds at 4000 to clear it out but now it runs great again and fires right up.

So if you have a camry with the same symptoms, might want to check for that set screw.

am having the same problem with my 1990 Camry LE v6....
without a pressure gage, how can you tell if the pressure is set
within the prescribed limits of 37-42psi ????
It has a really rough idle around 500-800 rpm in park.
old carbs are open 1 and 1/4 turn open to start .................
any rule of thumb on the injection pressure adjustment without a gage ???
