Door Panel and Air Conditioner

Hello all. Newbie here. Have a 1987 4 door that my mother in law bought new and it has been sitting in my garage since 1992 (although I do take it out on occasion). Runs well and I get alot of compliments on it. However, there are 2 issues with it that I would appreciate your help with. First, the driver's side armrest collapsed and pulled the door panel fabric away from the plastic. I guess I would need a new door panel. Are these difficult to remove (manual windows) and can replacements be purchased? Second, I charged up the A/C and it works perfectly, as long as I am above idle At idle, the fan continues to blow but the air gets warm/hot. Give it a little gas, and voila, gets cold again. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

its not a big issue if a professional do it. But if you're new on that it would be a big problem.I suggest you go to mechanics to do it.

A/C

Hey GRUMPY did you convert the A/C or was it done previously. When converting to R134a oil must be changed in the system. the old R12 oil will not circulate with the R134a refrigerant !. Reciever dryer should have been changed also. Did you use a high presure gage to check the high side pressure. Was a vacume pulled on system to get any air and moisture out? There is no simple way to do this it must be done right or it wont last and wont cool right.

appreciate the info justastreekin...it works well as long as it is not at idle....at even 100 rpm above idle it feels like nome in january...but let it idle and the warm air starts a flowin.
