Smile Fuel Line Retaining Clip - Help finding replacement?

I'm new to the forums, hopefully I'm doing this correctly. I had to get into the fuel tank of my 2014 Camry LE 2.5 (not hybrid). Long story but the car was hit from behind and still dealing with the carnage a year later. When I pulled the retaining clip out of the pressure line, the clip snapped. Can't find a part number anywhere - dealer or parts store. The best the dealer offered is a fuel line assembly for something like $75. Anybody have any suggestions?

Toyota doesn't list the clip as a separate part as such there is no part number. The dealer only has the complete fuel line that comes with the clip. You might be able to find a cheaper fuel line by using an online Toyota parts dealer.

As to the clip you may be out of luck. Doorman makes aftermarket plastic clips but apparently not for this application.

The part looks complete less the broken finger. The clip wedges into the fuel line fitting to keep it from pulling out.

Since the clip is complete, might install the clip then secure it with tie wraps so such so it cannot move. Or use self-bonding electrical tape. This tape has a peel off cover on one side that exposes an adhesive. The tape stretches when pulled and can be wrapped VERY tight and snug around something to adhere to itself. Unlike normal electrical tape it doesn't back off over time or deteriorate. Or make your own clip from sheet metal. I would try the tie wrap and tape method.

Thanks Joey appreciate the tip. I'll use the tape method. Agree once it's in place the connector isn't coming out. I have a long description of the problem and the (hopefully) solution. Will post tomorrow.
