Heater goes on and off
 

1989 camry lately my heater goes on and off, it will go off when i start the car and stay off then i start it again later on and it comes on what the hell is goin on ??there is heat commin out the vent but no blowing air..
is it the motor or the temp solenoid (whatever its called)were everything plugs in to make it go..
And is there a way to bypass it just to make it work for now/ reason why is no money right now and need heat lol
if no bypass then i guess i will go to the Jyard and pick on up...

if you do have heat the flaps and controls work -so restriction is not the problem

sounds like the blower fan motor under the dash or its resistor for fan motor speeds

or "heater fan resistor" ..that part you can buy new

the aircon fan and blower are the same motor

any problems with the air con blowing ?

yep same thing on the a/c

I dont know the 89 camry set up well enough to guide you to replace the motor

my basic idea is to

1:check the resistor first
2:then if no better I suspect it is a tired blower motor
