Mechanic Used Vinegar instead of Windshield Wiper Fluid!
Hi,
I'm helping a friend buy a used car. We found one, so I went to used car's mechanic this morning. When we were talking, I saw him pour vinegar (Target brand 1 gallon) into the windshield wiper fluid reservoir on someone else's 2010 era Honda Accord or Civic. Mechanic is not seller of car we're looking at.
I've never heard of vinegar as a windshield wiper fluid substitute.
Should I avoid this mechanic for repairs?
Or does vinegar have a benefit or equivalence to windshield wiper fluid that I should start using in my 1989 Camry?
Thanks as always!

vinegar and water mix is a well known non toxic glass cleaner
google it if you need to
Green Living, from National Geographic, recommends this simple recipe, plus a few extra tips for the best window cleaning outcome. In a spray bottle, mix 50% distilled vinegar (white) and 50% tap water. For extremely grimy glass, prewash with very soapy water, then go to the vinegar spray. Got highly resistent spots?Feb 13, 2013
