Oil Capacity for 2011 2.5L 4cyl
 

The FREE Toyota Care plan that came with my car paid for the first 5 services including 2 oil changes at 10k and 20k. Since it was free the dealer has serviced my car since new. I was a little unsure about going 10k intervals, but the oil looked just as good after 10k miles as when it was fresh on all oil changes so far.

I just changed the oil for the first time myself at 30k. The canister oil filter is actually pretty mess-free when you use the drain tube that comes with the new filter element. No complaints.

My question is about the capacity. My owners manual states 4.7 quarts with a filter change. After pouring 4.7 quarts in, the level on the dipsick read between the marks. Even after running the engine for a few minutes and pouring the last of the 5th quart in, the level is still not to the full mark. I know that anywhere between the marks is acceptable, but I prefer the level at the top mark.

How much oil are you guys adding at an oil change?

same here. dead smack on top line. maybe you have V6? ;)

Just wondering if you are running Synthetic? It is specified beginning in 2011, which is when they went to 0w20 and 10K changes I believe. I know that is the case for the 2012 we just got for our daughter this weekend. My dealer changed to Mobile1 Syn for the service department.
My experience is 4.5 qt for 4 cy, and 6.5 qt in the V6 for my Avalon which is the same engine as the Camry V6.
