Default rear brake pads vs front

It seems from my most recent experience that the rear pad wears out faster than the front. I've had this experience with '07 Camry and was wondering if this still is true for later year models.

I've had '07 Camry and sold at 70K miles. I had to replace the rear pads at 60K miles and never replaced the front pads. This was strange since I know the front pads wears out faster than the rear.

Any experience with this brake pad issue?

This generation of Camry seems to be harder on rear pads.

However it is not uncommon for cars having F/R disk brakes to have increased rear pad wear.

Pad wear depends on many factors such as pad material, pad contact area and F/R breaking distribution.

It possible by design to end up with a brake system where the rear pads wear out before the front. Then the axiom that the front pads wear out faster then the rear is no longer true.

What do you mean when you say "this generation"? How is latest generation divided for Camry? What is your experience with your Camry as to the interval of pads replacement, rear vs front? Should I expected to have rear pads replaced before the front for my '13 Camry? Sorry, so many questions....

Generation 6 is years 2007-11.

These are just trends in brake wear based on complaints.

Don't know about 2013 which would be generation 7.

If cost is an issue DIY and save. Replacing brake pads is quick and straight forward.
