Default timing belt

hello, newbie here, I was wondering about my timing belt change. I am looking at the factory manual and it says to rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise? then after making sure everything lines up, then you rotate clockwise? I just wanted to make sure I am correct that I need to rotate the engine backwards!!??

Always rotate CW. The belt is under proper tension when rotating CW.
