Tail Light assembly replacement

so my tail light was cracked the other day while i was in a parking lot. I was quoted at 200 dollars for a replacement and installation. I can get the assembly for about ninety dollars but have not found any videos on how to replace the unit myself. Has anyone done this or have any idea how? It

Thanks guys

Look on back of the new taillight housing for 3 long threaded studs. When the assy is installed these studs will extend through the chassis to be retained by nuts on the back side of the chassis.

Look in the trunk behind the cracked fixture for an access panel allowing bulb changes for the 3 stud nuts. The owners manual should have something on changing these bulbs. If you can't get full access to the nuts the trunk lining will need to be removed. Typically the lining is held in place with plastic push buttons pressed into holes in the lining and into holes in the chassis.

Once access to rear is fully gained remove the electrical socket harness connections to the bulb and unbolt the nuts on the studs. Note the assy has a slot on the side which slides onto a stud. The assy needs to be removed by sliding it out rearward.

Replace assy taken care not to over tighten the nuts as the studs mounted in plastic.
