What is this sensor? '95 Camry

Working on rebuilding an engine after a fire. I can't find any information on this sensor that's right on the front of the engine. I thought it was a crankcase position sensor, but it looks like that one is somewhere else.

Any ideas?

Engine is 5S-FE
1995 Camry 4 cyl.

Thanks!

I waited quite a while .. i could not get the image to open
without a picture which way are you facing

you are rewireing from an engine bay fire ...wow...... what a job
did you get a new loom or second hand loom from a wrecker to save time

if the area got that hot check the timing belt

Weird. It's on flickr here:

hope that works.

Thanks for the idea! Yeah I got both O2 sensors on the exhaust, but this sensor is on the engine itself. Far right side next to the coolant outlet. just under the valve cover. It's wires were kind of bundled with the O2 sensor wires, both heading toward the ECU (I believe).

As for the loom, yeah it's a mess. but fortunately (somewhat) the fire retardant wire covers did a pretty good job. I was able to trace each wire from one side of the loom to the other. I cut out the middle bit where the damage was and will add new wire with connectors and solder.

Speaking of that , these connectors are hard to find too. Anyone know where to get the right connectors without having to buy 1000 at a time?

Yeah that diagram makes it look like the knock sensor, but according to my Haynes manual, the knock sensor is V6 only. Also it places it INSIDE the intake manifold.

Alldatadiy has the same diagram you provided.

I think you may be right though. Thanks!

a 1995 4 cyl has a knock sensor

in a 1990 4 cyl camry repair manual (gregories)same spot says and oil pressure sender

if you can't tell after yours has been in a fire

to really know ....undo that sensor... and go to part identification

oil pressure sender has a tapered thread.......... a knock a straight cut thread

Confirmed,
It is an Oil pressure Sender/switch

Thanks for the help!
