Whats the best aftermarket suspension to buy?

Hey guys, so I drive a 2004 camry LE v6. Has 140K but its still a great car!! I just ordered some fender linings (snow storm damage), and will be doing that soon. I also do whatever else i can, new headlight assemblys, tune up stuff, breaks etc... and i'm thinking some new rear mounted struts (shocks?) will make for a new life in the ride. But i guess i have two reservations about this.
1- how hard of a job is this actually? Iv'e watched a few videos of people doing it and it doesn't seem too crazy, but i know people can make things look easy. Any advice or areas of special attention?

2- which ones to buy?! I don't want to spend top dollar, but i don't want to buy junk that'll crap out in a years driving time either ya know?

Any advice or relations are greatly appreciated!! Be safe out there and best of luck. -K

1) If replacing the strut and keeping the original suspension spring you will need a spring compressor. This to compress the spring and allow removing the strut. You might be able to rent this, if not there are low cost ones to buy.

Monroe, MOOG, Gabriel and KYB offer a complete strut/spring unit which would be remove and replace repair. The unit cost is higher then just a strut but one gets a completely new unit.

2) Monroe has some kind of sale on struts only. KYB is a popular brand. Sacks, Gabriel.

This is good advice I appreciate it. Def considering the new spring mounted unit as a whole. Actually never thought of keeping the orig springs, that’s interesting. Again thanks and be well!
