1996 Camry Vienta O/D flashing
Hi I have noticed today while driving my camry that my overdrive light has been flashing (O/D OFF) as well as while I am in drive it feels like the car will not use L
making it so I have to switch to the gear manually to get the car moving.

The light blinking means there is problem with the trans which is monitored and controlled by a computer.
It could be the overdrive is not disengaging in which case the car will feel like it is a higher gear or the trans is in some problem causing the trans to go into a default operation mode the result being t is not shifting to L automatically.
Have a shop tap into the trans computer to download any stored trouble codes.
In the mean time turn off the overdrive and manually shift the trans through the gears as required.
If having a shop check out the trans be aware that many will automatically state it needs to be replaced to make extra income!!
Find shop (or go to a Toyota dealer) that will actually diagnose the problem. It could be a solenoid is bad, sensor or some other fix that does not require the trans be rebuilt or even removed from the car.
