97 camary with traction control problem

Hi, I'm new to the forum. The traction control went out on my 97 xle v6 camary. How can I fix it myself?

Thanks!

Any dash icon warming lights illuminated for this system?

Thought the system ties into the ABS braking system, any problems with the ABS system?

Is the check engine light on?

Yes the check engine an track control lights are on. If I give it to much gas. It feels like wheel hop. Makes me nervous trying to merge in rush hour traffic or rainy days. thanks

On some cars if the check engine light comes on, the computer will turn off the traction control system (and the track light will turn on). This is supposed to reduce the engine and drive train load.

Suggest you find out why the check engine light is on.
