Camry 09 keyless entry problem

Having an issue with wife's car. When locking the doors with the key fob there should be a beep and my wife states that there is none anymore. Can't find much on the system. I have no clue if it utilizes the horn when you lock the doors or a seperate unit. It is an 09 camry with a 4 banger. keyless system was installed at dealership. I just need to know how to system works and if it utilizes a seperate unit for an audio alarm when it is locked. Help would be appritiated I just need to know where the pieces are located.

Don't know much about these systems.

Toyota sells remote start, remote entry and alarm systems that can be dealer or owner installed. The system may be called VIP, such as VIP-RS3200, or Toyota Vehicle Security System (TVSS) or TVIP. It may be installed behind the glove box and may look like a small box with one harness plug connected to it. If you can find the box there may be a model number on the case.

On some models the beep can be turned off. Toyota may call the beep feature answer back or buzzer activation.

How to this can vary with year and model, don't know for yours thus suggest an internet search on Toyota VIP, plus whatever system you have such as remote entry, start, alarm plus Camry. An internet search can often return programming manuals.

Sometimes disconnecting the battery resets the beep feature but reconnecting the battery may also set off the alarm system if the car has one. Make sure you know how to reset the alarm.
