Check eng light/ ABS light

Ihave a 98 Camry the check engine light came on, I had it read and it was and EGR insufficeint flow(p0401 I think) Does anybody know what the likely cause of this is? I have heard both that it is normally the EGR valve or its normally the VSV.

I also got an ABS light that just came on. It came on after I parked on a bunch of leaves and sticks. I checked the sensors and there was nothing in between the sensors?Any help would be great. I'll tell ya if I find any thing. Thanks. Slomo

if i were to guess it would be, 60% chance vsv, 40% egr.

and you will need to get the abs code, soulds like you over stretched an abs sensor wire..

I agree that you really need the code for the ABS warning light... there are too many things that will cause that light to come on to even guess what the problem really is. I paid $90 for Toyota to scan the code and explain it to me, but the Haynes manual will show you how to obtain it without even having a scanner.

In my case, I had an open circuit between the right front sensor and the ABS computer... if I had not known that was specifically the problem and known to look specifically for a broken wire from that sensor, I would never have been able to repair it myself.

Many state inseption garages will check the light and give you the codes for free. This is what I do for my camry
