Check engine light but no stored code
I get a check engine light at startup. The car idles rough and can't be driven. When I go to check the code I get a constant flashing check engine light indicating that there is no problem. What to change or check to get this car on the road for good? 1992 Camry 2.2 automatic.

Are you jumping the connectors to get the code or are you using a an OBD scanner? A scanner should be able to pick up all codes that have not been erased. If you don't have one, I think there are some parts stores that rent them like Auto Zone. Or you can buy one which I believe is a worthwhile investment.

I've been shorting the E1 and T1 connections as specified in the service manual.

I suggested plugs leads or coil packs
after the fuel filter change |
I would get a scanner to get the stored codes and definitely check plugs/packs, can't hurt.

The plugs look good. The coil was changed about two weeks ago. Ignition wires where ohmed out and all where within specs.

I changed the O2 sensor. Even though I had no code for it. IT FIXED THE PROBLEM.

Nice, glad to hear that everything worked out. Thanks for posting the update.
