Headlight Swap

Hello! I have a 2009 Camry SE Hybrid and its time to replace my old fogged headlights. I am looking for something brighter than stock maybe LED but don't want to pay and arm and a leg for it. Any suggestion for lens and the lights or maybe even a kit? I am willing to pay around $180-$200. If anyone has any tips that would be awesome! -Dex S

Below is a very good thread on LED, HID and halogen headlight replacement:

Halogen vs HID vs LED headlights (Comparison Photos) - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

LED should be a direct swap. It can have drawbacks. One being more light cast closer to the car but less further from the car and on the sides. They are extremely bright and may blind drivers. Life span should be good.

HID needs a ballast. If going HID don't go cheap or can get flickering. Life is much shorter. They cast a lot of light in someones rear view mirror. Might has less light in fog.

If the headlight lens are clouded by exposure to sun. Best to replace the headlights rather then try to polish them. A replacement light will still have issue with clouded lens.

If they are fogged by moisture due to leaks. You can try purging the moisture then sealing the light case.

If the lens are clouded, suggest replacing the headlights. Then install the stock bulb and note the difference. It may be enough not to need different bulbs.

If state has vehicle inspections, find out if aftermarket HID, LED, etc are legal before installing them.
