Heater control knobs

I have a 1998 camry 4 cylinder. The dash lights work fine, the light for the shift works fine but the lights on the heater control knobs are out. I checked fuses all were good. I was told the illumination for those comes from within that whole heater/ air unit and you have to replace the whole module. The heating and air and blower work fine I just can't see it after dark. Anyone have any thoughts?

The blower, AC and control assy have bulbs. The wires connect to a junction block then the Panel fuse.

I have a 2003 Camry LE with manual climate control. I too would like to know how to remove the heater control panel. It has 2 bulbs out in it and I would like to replace them if it is possible.

Heater cotrol knobs

Thanks Joey. So what your saying is there may me loose or disconnected wiring in back that usually leads to the fuse block? Is it hard to get at?

The Autozone website has info on removing the center console trim panel that goes around the radio and climate controls. Once this is removed you can unbolt the controls.

You will need to sign up for site usage but it is well worth it and free.

2003 Camry Heater

I'd like to ask your assistance re: 2003 Camry heater problems. The A/C system has only 2 settings: extreme cold or heat. I have to turn the knob either full CW or CCW to turn on the heat and cold air respectively but there is no middle temperature (i.e, when I turn the knob to the middle position, the current temperature doesn't change). I had the dealer looked at this but they said they don't know how much time it would take to locate the problem and they charge $115 per hour! :( Have any of you experience this kind of problem with your A/C system? Appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks.
