How do I remove the Head Relay off of a 93 Camry (4 cyl)?

It clicks when I turn them in the on position, but nothing is happening. Only getting about 8.70 off of the meter when I test either headlight plug.

The brights work just dandy, however.

Thanks for any help..

Does this car have daytime running lights, auto off for head lights or was built for Canada?

If not the power to the low and high beams comes from the same source.

The low beam headlight ground is different then the high beams. Check for a good ground, White/Black wire. Both low beam filaments ground to the same point.

The headlight relay is located in an engine compartment relay box next to the battery.

Yeah, the relay was proving itself quite hard to remove earlier today. That was my main question, how do I remove it? I'd like to test the connection the relay plugs into to see if it's getting 12v. As of right now, the relay is just getting around 8.70.

There is a plastic spring type clip integral with the base of the relay that holds the relay to the box. If you look at the lower side portion of the relay facing the radiator you should see a slot in white plastic, this slot engages a tang in the box. It needs to be pulled back a little.

Kind of like some connecting plugs, where something needs to be squeezed or pulled back to release a clip, hook, etc before the plug can be pulled apart.

Suggest if your using a metal tool to retract the clip, to disconnect the battery first.
