I have a 93 v6 xle with 75k. About two weeks ago it started pushing smoke from under the hood and when i lifted it my throttle cable was on fire. After looking around i came to the conclusion that it had shorted out. i found that my cruise control wires were fried along with the wires that went to my fuse box labled Fan no. 1. Can it be fixed if i cut and splice?

 

The throttle cable shorted out? Was it rubbing against a wire that shorted against the cable?

Did the other wires get damaged from the heat of the fire or and electrical overload?

If you found the source of the fire and fixed that, you should be able to repair the other wiring by cutting and spicing.
