Oxygen Sendor

I have a 2011 Camry and my Check engine light has been on. I took it to the mechanic and had the sensor replaced but the check engine light came back on the next day. What could the issue be?

Do you have the work order with the trouble-code(s), plus the details of the repairs?

The repair could be the issue or not. Need to have someone read out the current trouble-code(s). Some auto parts will do this for free.

The trouble codes were P0136 and P0138.

P0136
Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 or wiring to it.
Air/fuel ratio for sensor 1
Engine room junction box (EFI relay)
Exhaust leak

P0138 points specifically to this sensor or wiring for it.

There is more then one sensor. Which sensor was replaced?

Best to go back the mechanic and have them read the codes.

Bank 1 sensor 2 was the only one replaced. They say it was a possibility that the other could need to be replaced as well.

The mechanic can check the codes and determine if they are the same.

The should have a scanner that can check the actual performance of the sensor in real time.
