Phone Voice Commands thru Bluetooth?
I'm new here. I just traded my 1995 Camry 151,000 miles for a 2008 XLE V6. I love it! I have a question about bluetooth. My phone is an LG VX8300 that supports voice commands. With a bluetooth headset, I can activate the phone's voice commands. However, with the Camry's Hands Free hookup, I get the Car's voice commands. Is there a way to bypass the car's voice commands and use my phone's voice commands? This way, I don't have to transfer my phone book and program the car.
Thanks. Mark |
RE: Phone Voice Commands thru Bluetooth?
I thought I'd close this. The dealer said that there is no way to active the voice commands on the phone. So unlike a Bluetooth headset, the Camry's Bluetooth only connects to the phone when it dials out or receives an incoming call.

If it makes any difference - I know this thread is old - I have discovered that if I activate the voice control on my iPhone 4 via the home button, and then hit the off hook button on my steering wheel, I can use the phone voice commands that way. I still have to hit the home button to activate, but it is better than fiddling with the phone itself for longer than that.
