P0171 is fuel system to lean. Meaning the computer is needing to add fuel, as the original mixture is to lean.

Issues:
Exhaust and intake air leaks
Low fuel pressure
Plugged injector (typically engine would run rough)
Bad MAP (seldom fails)
Engine coolant temp sensor
02/AF sensor failure (typically the first sensor on exhaust system)

P0446 is fuel tank evap control system.

You are going to need some kind of service info to understand this. Perhaps a Haynes manual which is low price.

Issues:
VSV for vapor pressure sensor or EVAP valve (common)
Vapor pressure sensor (common)
Wiring issues (not common)
Cracks or damaged EVAP hoses or canister (happens)
Fuel tank over flow valve leaking (not common)

EVAP unit is under chassis in front of fuel tank.

would you believe a faulty petrol cap seal or cap itself can give this reading ... worth checking any way

a guy was failed by emmisions test because mechanic didnt check the petrol cap seal and was tight eneough

P0446 is fuel tank evap control system........the list above grows .with every post .... so it could be anything
