Fixed the problem. Off a tooth on the timing belt 😁

Oil pressure light

I noticed that my oil pressure light stays on for about 30 seconds after a cold start. I replaced the pressure switch but still does it. I don’t notice excessive rattling when it’s on and I don’t want to rev it while it’s on. I don’t know if it could be a restriction in the pick up tube, oil pump worn or engine bearings worn. When the light is off it stays off even at normal temperature and low idle.

Good job on finding the timing issue.

As to the oil pressure light.

Suggest checking actual pressure with a gauge. The engine may have more oil pressure then thought. The old rule of thumb is 10 psi for every 1K engine rpm. Check pressure and time to build this pressure. Its possible the oil gallery lines may have some sludge build up.

If too low at start up could be the oil filter drain back valve is leaking. Worn oil pump needing more time to build up pressure. Clogged oil pump screen, Weak oil pump pressure relieve spring. Rarer would be a leaking oil pump intake seal.

One can replace the complete oil pump, body and relieve valve as one unit.

The engine bearings can be worn but not much here unless doing an overhaul.

Can try to increase the weight as this should increase oil pressure.

Check real oil pressure first. Need only say 10+ lbs after cold start idle to be OK.

Ok I’ll check that thanks
