1991 Camry dead key, what to do?

I put a new alternator, computer, plugs, plug wires, distributor, starter, icm, battery. The car was running good. I dropped the car off at a shop to have the transmission looked at. The shop left the key in accessory position. I have not been able to get the car to respond at all. Dead key. I am stuck. Any suggestions would be great.

What is a dead key?

This year of car should not have a chipped key that could fail..

Turn the key and the panel lights come on and there is no response from the engine. Starting to think it's the neutral safety switch

It looks to be the neutral safety switch

Jump the starter solenoid at the small wire terminal that goes to the ign key system and determine if the engine now cranks over..

I was able to put the shifter in Neutral, turn the key while jiggling the shifter and the car started. It's a good feeling to hear it start again.
it has all of the characteristics of the Neutral Safety Switch. Starts in neutral when shifter jiggled, no reverse lights.
It makes a lot of sense. It has been beginning to go bad for awhile and left me scratching my head since I bought the car 3 years ago. Intermittent non starting, ect.

I put a lot of electrical parts in this car while sorting this out. The good news too, is that she purrs like a kitten.
