1991 Camry: How do I check what my trans type is?
I have a 1991 camry 4cyl 2.0L at little over 170,000 miles.
Recently, the transmission started to give me serious noise. I don't drive this much: just drive it to get to the train station(about 0.6 mile each way). I'm thinking of buying a used transmission from ebay and bring it to my friend who has an autoshop to replace it. How do I check if the transmission is right one for me? I heard there are two models for 4cyl: A140E and A140L. Does anyone know how to determine this? |
RE: 1991 Camry: How do I check what my trans type is?
look at your badge on the firewall of the car. it'll say L or E... or if you have a pwr/norm button in your car then it's a E if you don't then it's L

Wow. Thanks very much. I have pwr/norm button, so I assume mine is E type. Thanks again.
I wonder how much it costs to swap the trans. |
