1992 Camry Whirring Humming Noise
 

I have a 1992 Camry and recently it just started making a Whirring/Humming Noise when i accelerate at any speed. Im not too sure where the sound is coming from but it sounds like it is coming from the fan. The sound kinda sounds like a early 90s to mid 90s toyota truck when accelerating any help?

4cyl or 6 ? 5spd or auto ? is there loss of power ?
does it happen if you rev the engine in neutral ?
does it change speed or pitch according to acceleration .?

sorry 1992 toyota camry XLE v6 automatic.. yes there seems to be a loss off acceleration i do not believe it happens in neutral just when the car is in drive or reverse from what i have noticed but when i put it in park i pop the hood and it sounds like the whirring whooshing noise is from the fan. speed does not really matter it whirrs almost at any speed.

I have the same model except mine is a 93 v6 LE

it sounds like its coming from the passenger side up near the firewall, that belt right there
mine sounds like the belt is too tight and when I rev my engine it whirrs and winds down for a bit too
I am going to investigate some more soon, I'll let you know if I find out anything.
my thoughts right now are just serpentine belt. no idea about the drive belt yet though.
