Warmed up the car. Pulled the vacumn hose from the EGR port. Plugged the rubber hose.. Connected vacumn gauge to EGR port. Pulled vacumn ( 15 mm hg) and vacumn was steady but idle was rough and almost car almost stalled..

If engine applying vacuum caused the problems listed, the actual valve seems to be working OK.
The issue may be the components that control vacuum to the valve. This being the modulator and VSV valve. VSV turn vacuum on/off to the EGR system. Modulator regulators vacuum pressure based on manifold pressure. The regulated vacuum pressure determines EGR valve position for more or less exhaust gas flow.
The VSV is powered by 12v. Can check operation.to determine if it is works.

I was driving the car yesterday and at a brisk pace which is not common since I am not a speedster. . After that the check engine light went off. Will monitor and troubleshoot further if needed. Strange.
Will also check for codes on the car.

I was checking all the vacumn lines and connections just to start simple . Good shape and no dry rot but they are old so could be questionable. However, I noticed two vacumn hoses going into a tank closer to fire wall fender and the cover cracked right at where the vacumn hoses feed in(2). Directly below brake reservoir. Trying to figure out what this is.
