2.2 with NPR pistons wall clearance
 

I'm having a block bored for a set of .020 (.50mm) oversize NPR pistons and rings. Are these measured for clearance in a different location than is typical? The Hanes has .0055 clearance as minimum and this seems excessive for a cast piston and more in line with forged pistons. I don't think my 427 had that much clearance with .060 over cast pistons measured at the skirt with a feeler gauge. It's a 96 Camry for the daughter.

Manual checks piston OD 90 degrees to pin holes and 20.5mm below piston top.

Clearance listed is 0.0068-0.0076 inch (oversize Toyota piston).

Determine if the piston diameter printed on the box already incorporates a clearance. This number being XX smaller then the actual piston OD.

If so, the finished hole size would be the diameter printed on the box.
