2003 Camry Fuel Consumption

Hi guys I drive a 2003 Camry XLE V6 and I did an odmeter count last week and I noticed that I only got 322 km on one tank of gas. Can someone please tell me how many km in the city am I supposed to get on 1 tank of gas in the city. My gauge moves everytime I drive the car as it just drinks the gas.

i don't know where you live so i have no idea what kind of emission system you have in your camry,, but the camries here in the US have emission guide lines... for example...in the exhaust systemthere is a sensor that monitors fuel trim... now if your vehicle is running rich this sensor will set a code for rich condition and your engine light will go on ..its pretty much a smog test .... your car should have the same system....is your car running properly...if so and your check engine light has never come on.. your car should be fine...now if you where lossing gas externally... like a leak...you should be smelling raw fuel... and if the leak happens to be on the gas tank side of the fuel pump... your engine light should go on with a evap emission malfuntion code.....

Hi .. check as what toyoboy said ... if there is no fuel leak .. i advice u to change the fuel filter also u can use a strong fuel injetors clreaner to clean the fuel lines then after that u can remove ur car injectors & have them cleanes & dont foget to check the air filter as if its blocked & full of dirt this will affect the fuel consumtion.

check also for thr tiers pressure as its affects in other ways ...

all the best :)

Another thing that could be is your plugs are going. I like the fuel leak tho. have you noticed any puddles in your driveway? If not, try changing out your fuel filter, and running about .75 of a can of seafoam through your PCV valve and brake booster line, and change your plugs afterwards. Youll even notice a kick in power too.

Hi Leo

I have been getting between 32 and 35 mpg on my 2003 V6 LE. This is way better than I expected. I would guess that you have a problem somewhere, but sorry, I am not a mechanic. I hope you get your troubles sorted out. I really love my Camry.

PS Got a quarter million miles out of my last one. Still running fine when sold.
